Guidelines for Registration with the Pastors Council of India (PCI)
The Pastors Council of India (PCI), a registered not-for-profit organization, facilitates the registration of professional pastors, evangelists, Bible college lecturers, theological students, and believers to enhance their professional credibility and promote the welfare of Christians engaged in church-related professions. Representing a diverse Christian community of approximately 30 million in India (3% of the population, including 17 million Catholics and 11 million Protestants), the PCI Trust unites churches, organizations, mission agencies, and fellowships to uphold biblical and ethical standards (Acts 15:23-25, 1 Corinthians 4:2).
Purpose of Registration: – Registration with the PCI Trust: – Enhances Professional Credibility: Validates qualifications and adherence to biblical principles, fostering trust among churches and communities (Matthew 5:16).
Promotes Biblical Accountability: – Ensures alignment with Scripture and ethical conduct (2 Timothy 3:16-17, 1 Peter 1:15-16).
Supports Kingdom Impact: – Equips leaders and believers to fulfill the Great Commission through PCI’s network and resources (Matthew 28:19-20).
Provides Public Recognition: – Lists registered individuals in National Registers on www.pcit.org.in, affirming their commitment to PCI standards.
A professional church pastor, evangelist, or lecturer is an individual:
- Holds an approved theological qualification from a recognized institution.
- Continuously updates their skills and knowledge in biblical studies and theology.
- Adheres to ethical standards, rules, and regulations grounded in the Holy Bible, as formulated by the PCI Trust (Acts 15:23-25).
Registration Categories: – The PCI Trust maintains separate National Registers for the following categories:
- Junior Pastor (J.P.)
- Associate Pastor (A.S.P.)
- Senior Pastor (S.P.)
- Evangelist
- Lecturer/Speaker
- Theological Student
- Believer (Church Member)
Eligibility Criteria: – Applicants must meet the following criteria, specific to their registration category:
- Theological Qualifications: Provide evidence of a theological degree, diploma, or enrollment in a recognized Bible college or seminary (for Theological Students).
- Experience: Relevant ministry experience, as defined by PCI for each category (e.g., Senior Pastors require extensive leadership experience).
- Biblical and Ethical Standards**: Commit to PCI’s Code of Ethics, rooted in Scripture (1 Timothy 3:1-7, 1 Corinthians 4:2).
- Ongoing Development**: Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning in biblical studies and theology.
Required Documents: – Submit the following documents (scanned copies, PDF/JPG/PNG, max 5MB each) via the online application form:
- ID Proof (Required): Aadhar Card, Voter ID, or Driving License.
- Theological Study Certificates: Degrees, diplomas, or proof of enrollment from a recognized institution.
- Secular Study Certificates: Educational qualifications (e.g., high school, degree), if applicable.
- Commitment Letter: A signed letter affirming adherence to PCI’s biblical and ethical standards.
- Church Leader Recommendation: A letter from a recognized church leader (for Pastors, Evangelists, and Lecturers).
- Personal Testimony: A statement of faith (Romans 10:9-10) for all categories.
- Latest Photograph (Required): A recent passport-sized photo.
- Payment Slip (Required): Proof of registration fee payment.
- Signature (Required): A scanned copy of the applicant’s signature.
Registration Fees: – The non-refundable registration fees, aligned with biblical stewardship (1 Corinthians 4:2), are as follows:
- Junior Pastor (J.P.): ₹3,000
- Associate Pastor (A.S.P.): ₹3,000
- Senior Pastor (S.P.): ₹5,000
- Evangelist: ₹ 2,000
- Lecturer/Speaker: ₹3,000
- Theological Student: ₹1000
- Believer (Church Member): ₹ 1,000
Notes: – Non-Refundable: Fees support administrative costs, National Register maintenance, and verification processes. – Fee Updates: The PCI may revise fees periodically; updates will be posted on www.pcit.org.in. – Renewal: Registration is valid for 2 years, after which renewal is required (renewal fees to be announced). Complete the Application: – Fill all required fields accurately, Uploads of document ID Proof, Theological Certificates, Secular Certificates, Commitment Letter, Recommendation, Testimony, Photograph, Payment Slip, Signature. – Terms and Conditions: Check the box to accept PCI’s Terms and Conditions. – Ensure all documents are clear and legible.
